For the vast majority of those bitten by the affliction of the undead, shambling until decomposition or dismemberment is the grim finale. For a sliver of the minority, however, there is a way of existing which is, akin to some but mockery to others, that resembles life. A Lich is a zombie that, through extraordinary circumstance, evolves, gaining an array of beneficial upgrades, the most important of which, is sentience. The Lich can wade through hordes, steer them, and eventually lead them. Their sacrilegious energies can award them with aspects that are like magic but not, giving them authority over bone, or melding individuals into horrid amalgamations for sieges against fortified settlements of the living.
