While standard hydra heads connect to a brain in the body, the Flatwurm Hydra has its knowledge and memories distributed throughout. Although this limits their intelligence, it bolsters their regenerative capabilities. When a head is severed, a new one is grown, but unlike other subspecies, the severed head will also generate a new body that is, up until this point, an exact twin. The older any Hydra is the faster it regenerates, to the extent that cuts are healed around whatever severs them, although with a Flatwurm, this is not beneficial, so the initial cut is almost always allowed to pass. Since they are smaller than their cousins, the easiest way to end one is by crushing the creature with something that will cover the entire body, which thankfully in most cases, is a large boot.
