Good Phage / Bad Phage

First Appearance: Post Game +

Bio: Phage is an NPC who exists in the Hub. Like most of her kind, she was intended to be part of the incongruent mass of background collateral that add flavour to the user’s experience, or suffer in the wake of their collateral damage. Through forbidden tampering of the Hub’s code, Phage has attained a level of awareness that isolates her from the algorithm-driven masses she once belonged to. She observes the users with a continuously renewed fascination, eventually bonding with one, an avatar named Dymir, piloted by a young man in the real world who goes by the name of Vernon Cray. Through said bond, she is shown more of the real world than the contraband media she’d been consuming for glimpses of the other side of the other side. Together, they realize a common threat has bled into one reality to the other, but from which way to which, is the question for which they follow their own dynamic quest that will yield loot, adventure, and answers.

Build: No matter the realm she manifests in, Phage takes on the role of a long distance fighter, keen on striking critical points. Whether a sniper or a ranger, the crack of her shot is heard echoing from an unseen perch, obliterating targets outright, or staggering larger foes and incurring debilitating stat penalties that linger long after she’s repositioned and chambered the next hit. When she unlocks her latent pyromancer skills, she becomes a walking nuke, a glass cannon with the ability to so thoroughly bathe a battlefield in fiery chaos that her lack of defence is an afterthought to those lain smouldering in her wake.
